Job Title: Market Access and Reimbursement Head - Alpine (AT/CH)

Location: Vienna, Austria (hybrid/remote)

Job Description

As Market Access and Reimbursement Head you will be responsible for developing and executing access strategies for the Alpine region (Austria and Switzerland), engaging with national and sub-national payer authorities, and ensuring the availability of our products to patients.

You are a subject-matter expert for biologic/innovative medicines with a proven record in defining and justifying country P&MA strategy and strong knowledge of local market access environments, including healthcare systems, reimbursement policies, and pricing regulations with experience in Austria and/or Switzerland

The role reports to the Global Access Strategy Head with a dotted line to the General Manager responsible for Alpine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Local Access Strategy:
    • In collaboration with global market access team, identify, understand, and capture local payer stakeholder needs and their implications for Galderma.
    • Lead local adaptation of Global payer value proposition and Global Payer objection handler
    • Identify, understand, and capture local payer stakeholder needs and their implications for Galderma.
    • Ensure timely local submission of P&R dossiers to local payer agencies and achieve optimal market access conditions
    • Monitor the local P&R landscape, identify P&R risks, maintain knowledge and understanding of local access and funding pathways, and keep the Global team informed regularly.
  • Local payer-evidence generation support:
    • Collaborate with Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research and local country access expert agencies in the development of country-specific evidence requirements and economic models and/or analyses, driven by a clear understanding of what is needed by the country and by when.
    • Lead local adaptation of Budget Impact/Cost-Effectiveness models as required including identifying data sources relevant to local HTA/P&R assessments.
  • Price execution:
    • In collaboration global market access and pricing team, prepare a local pricing and negotiation strategy and lead pricing negotiations.
    • Maintain up-to-date pricing information (i.e., price type, price level, reimbursement status) and communicate with the Global Pricing team.
    • Report changes in pricing policies (i.e., new reference country basket, new mandatory discount) proactively with Global Pricing.
    • Submit price requests to Region/Global in sufficient time for evaluation.
  • Stakeholder engagement and advocacy:
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in Switzerland and Austria, including payers, government agencies, health technology assessment bodies, and patient advocacy groups.
    • Engage in discussions and negotiations with external stakeholders to influence policies and secure optimal market access.
    • Represent the company in local/regional industry conferences, forums, and meetings to promote market access strategies and exchange knowledge.
    • Actively contribute to the annual brand planning, forecasting, and budgeting process.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, and Finance), including global

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Health Economics, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MSc, MBA, or PhD) is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in market access in Austria / Switzerland; experience securing P&R for biologic or innovative medicines preferred.
  • Track record developing and successfully executing P&MA strategies in competitive therapeutic areas.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and leverage market insights, pricing data, and health economic evidence to drive local access strategies.
  • Managing large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager
  • Business partnering, stakeholder management, and hands‐on to get into the details if needed.
