ROLE OVERVIEW
Software Developer | Vienna, Austria
We are a technology-led hedge fund looking to hire a qualified Software Developer. We are passionate about collecting, cleaning, transforming, and storing data to feed our trading strategies. Our data-driven trading models utilize a variety of open-source technologies and multiple data sources – from vendor APIs to our fleet of web crawlers running 24/7 – to make trading decisions in the global markets. A successful candidate will have a passion not only for building front-end applications but also for working with data and developing software to solve data challenges. Frequent interaction with traders, quants, and senior management will be required, so communication and collaboration skills are essential.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and Manage Data-Driven Configurations:
- Utilize the Django web framework to create and maintain configurations for data consumption, enhancement, and visualization.
2. Collaborate with Operations and Investment Teams:
- Work closely with the Operations and Investment teams to understand their requirements and develop a suite of tools and dashboards that support trading, risk management, and operational efficiency.
3. Develop Comprehensive Documentation:
- Create detailed internal and end-user documentation for the tools and systems developed, ensuring clear communication of their functionalities and usage guidelines.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Mid-level professional with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in Python development at a financial firm.
- Proficiency with Django or a similar Python web framework.
- Proficiency in frontend development concepts such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with GitHub/Git, or comparable distributed version control system.
- Comfortable working in a Linux command line environment.
- Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
