Institute for Organization Design Part-time, 30 hours/week Starting as soon as possible, and ending after 6 years
The Institute for Organization Design (Department of Strategy & Innovation) has a research and teaching focus on strategic management (particularly strategic leadership and corporate governance), organizational change, and organization design. In our quantitative empirical research, we cooperate with a well-established network of international scholars (e.g., Wharton, Rice, INSEAD, Bocconi). We are particularly looking for self-motivated, highly active, and productive researchers, who will be expected to make a significant contribution to our research areas.
What to expect
Writing a dissertation: You will investigate your research topic and spend a third of your working hours on writing your dissertation. The outcomes of your research projects will be published in international academic journals.
Regular research exchange: You will regularly present and discuss your research at international conferences and in our Institute’s PhD seminar.
Doctoral courses: You will enroll in WU’s PhD program and complete doctoral courses as part of your training.
Teaching: You will teach your own course and co-supervise Bachelor theses as well as student projects with our company partners (international listed companies and hidden champions)
Research and teaching support: You will support administrative tasks related toresearch, teaching, and self-governance.
What you have to offer
Academic degree: You have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in BusinessAdministration (preferably) or a related field that qualifies you for enrollment in adoctoral program at WU.
Strong academic record: You have a solid academic background and qualification in one or more of the following areas: 1. Strategic management, particularly strategic change, strategic leadership or corporate governance 2. Organizational change 3. Organization design (e.g., novel organizational forms, designs for the future of work) 4. Quantitative empirical research, statistical and econometric analysis (e.g., Stata, R), and / or natural language processing (Python, R).
Passion for academic work: You have a strong dedication to writing a PhD dissertation and publishing in top-tier journals in strategic management.
Willingness to use multimedia teaching methods: You are prepared to use multimedia teaching and learning formats.
Soft skills: You have very good communication, presentation, and analytical skills, a high self-motivation, excellent organizational skills, willingness to take on responsibility, natural curiosity, and are a team player.
Language skills: You have strong skills in written and spoken English. Knowledge of German is not required but will be considered a plus.
Interest in teaching: You show a high motivation and capacity to excel in teaching.

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €2.684,10 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on job-related prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
