Cerabyte, a cutting-edge data storage technology company, is seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to join our hardware team. As an Optical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting hardware team by designing, simulating and developing our revolutionary high pulse power laser based data write/read and high NA optical microscopy system. Most of the work will be related to coherent single mode illumination sources and therefore deep understanding of complex light fields and propagation thorough high NA optical system is required. In addition to that, candidate will have work closely to hardware suppliers to discuss technical details and designs to bridge the gap between simulation and implementation in the final product as well as run test setups to prove design concepts

- Master's or Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, physics, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in optical design and analysis
- Strong understanding of optical principles, including geometric optics, wave optics, and optical materials
- Proficiency in ray optical design software, such as Zemax
- Experience with complex light field/wave optics simulations using, MATLAB, Python, VirtualLab Fusion
- Hands on experience on implementing design in the lab
- Deep knowledge of diffraction and interference effects
- Familiarity with optical manufacturing processes and tolerancing, experience working with suppliers
- Understanding of laser systems and high NA optics
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in English
Nice to Have:
