Your personal sphere of influence:

As a university assistant prae doc, you will complement the research team around Prof. Ahrends' working group. The focus of the planned research is on the method development of high-throughput lipidomics analyses and their acquisition for the elucidation of cardiovascular diseases. The research project takes place in an interdisciplinary framework, and combines analytical method development with clinical relevant questions. Thus, this position requires a high level of commitment and communication.

The contract period upon employment in 4 years. Initially limited to 1,5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a non-extension declaration within the first 12 months.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of analytical chemistry.
  • We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
  • You work on your dissertation and its completion.
  • You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • You take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
This is part of your personality:
  • Completed Master's degree or Diploma in chemistry, preferably in the field of analytical chemistry, medical biology or equivalent qualification.
  • First practice in scientific writing and with research methods such as method skills: bionalytical chemistry, liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Didactic skills / experience with e-learning.
  • IT user skills: MS Office desired, optional: R, Python, databases.
  • Knowledge of Chromatographic techniques coupled with mass spectometry is desirable.
  • Very good knowledge of German and English (min. B2).
  • You should be a team player with high social skills.
