Tasks As an IT System Operations Manager, you will regularly maintain and update the power plant optimization system, including the operating systems (Linux/Windows), application software and databases. This ensures that our critical infrastructure (large power plants) runs smoothly around the clock. You ensure that all security-relevant measures are adhered to in order to protect the system from unauthorized access. This includes the implementation and monitoring of firewalls, virus scanners and the planning and execution of system backups. Together with the central IT architects, you migrate suitable system components to the cloud and are responsible for ensuring that they communicate securely with local software and hardware components. You work with external and internal IT service providers to carry out work on system components and establish data connections for new systems. You will also define emergency measures and recovery procedures for various IT incidents that need to be taken to maintain business operations. Requirements You have a university or college degree in computer science (diploma/master's degree). You have extensive experience in software and hardware administration as well as network design and are proficient in OS-related scripting (Bash, PowerShell). Basic knowledge of Python and Perl is an advantage, as is a basic understanding of the energy industry. You work responsibly, like to get to the bottom of things and are characterized by a hands-on mentality. You also value teamwork.
