Scala Engineer

Job Description

Location: Fully remote, EU timezone (CET +/- 2 hours)

As a Scala engineer with our client, you will play a key role in designing and developing robust back-end systems. You will ensure that the platform maintains exceptional performance and reliability for all users.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop back-end services in Scala within a microservices architecture, using technologies such as Apache Pulsar and Postgres.
• Manage data efficiently and ensure seamless integration with front-end systems and third-party services.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers to create efficient APIs and optimize back-end/front-end interactions.
• Adhere to best practices in back-end development, including code quality, security, testing, and performance optimization.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Work closely with product and design teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Stay informed about the latest back-end technologies and trends to keep the platform cutting-edge.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in back-end development.
• Strong experience in Scala 3, with a keen interest in learning new technologies.
• Good understanding of API design, microservices architecture, and server-side technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively remotely.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL and Kubernetes.
