Your personal sphere of play:

Your future position is at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry in the area of cell biology. The successful candidate will conduct mode-of-action studies and target evaluation of (metal-based) compounds synthesized at the institute. A distinct focus lies on translational anticancer drug development from laboratory to clinical application. The candidate will work within interdisciplinary teams (analytical chemists, clinical, biostatistics and bioinformatics scientists). The position is limited to one year, with the option of granted tenure afterwards.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching and administration, which means:
You build up an independent research profile in the field of cell- and molecular biology.
You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of (anti-cancer) drug mode-of-action research, oncometabolism and CRISPR-based gene editing.
You publish internationally and give lectures.
You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
You prepare and complete a publication-ready habilitation.
You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
You supervise your students.
You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

This is part of your personality:

Completed doctoral/PhD studies in subject chemistry, biochemistry or molecular biology
• Outstanding dissertation
• Research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-relevant media
• Experience in research management and in leading project staff
• Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
• IT skills: MS Office, Adobe. Highly preferable: GarphPad Prism, R
• Experience in 3D cell culture and knowledge of (cancer) cell metabolism is desirable.
• Excellent knowledge of English (C1)
• Team player and high social/communicative skills
• Ability to present and visualize data
