We are looking for an Engineering Manager of Quality Assurance with profound experience in software development in the area of regulated products (Medical Device) and in-depth knowledge of software testing, different verification phases and types of testing. As we are often pioneers in our field, we need a pragmatic person who is eager to expand into new fields of products and services. mySugr currently has multiple products with a focus on mobile applications. In many countries around the world, these products are classified as medical devices. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring that quality assurance is embedded in the organization and the software development and release process.
You will lead the Quality Assurance department, a team of manual testers and release managers. You champion Quality throughout the organization - drive decisions and advise on best practices and mentorship of the Quality Assurance department. You contribute to the evolution of Quality Assurance best practices while successfully releasing quality products to customers on a regular basis (bi-weekly). You enable department members to grow professionally and personally by guiding them and fostering a culture of servant leadership. Together with your peer leaders you will foster continuous improvement and open communication in an international environment of exponential growth and change.
Essential skills for your mission:
At Least 7-8 years of professional experience in the field of quality engineering/assurance for software products.
At least 5 years of experience leading and managing an international and diverse team of multiple individuals.
Practical experience in software testing and test automation for mobile and web applications. Ability to jump in and get your hands dirty in testing the products.
Experience in software development according to the highest quality standards and applicable norms, including ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971 etc.
Experience working in agile environments.
Experience in optimizing existing processes to work for multiple regulatory jurisdictions and strive for pragmatic, effective, and efficient decisions, and you make the removal of blockers or impediments your top priority.
Passion for feedback, open communication, continuous improvement, and you can translate this passion into actionable improvements of work environments.
Excellent written and verbal skills in English and excellent communication skills in general.
You are either an EU citizen or hold a valid Austrian work permit.
Bonus skills:
Experience in applying IEC 62304, AMI TIR-45 or similar standards
Experience in audits by notified bodies
Experience in working in a SAFe environment
Knowledge of the diabetes industry or other comparable health industries
