The advertised position is to be filled for four years. Upon successful completion, the academic degree Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) will be awarded. The position is based at the Institute of Sport and Exercise Science at the Center for Sport Science and University Sport (CSU).
The CSU is among one of the 20 faculties and centers of the University of Vienna and is located in the 15th district of Vienna. Department of Sport and Human Movement Science (DSHMS) as a scientific sub-unit and the University Sports Institute (USI) as the central facility for university sports in Vienna are assigned to it. The DSHMS is the largest research institution in the field of sports science in Austria. The following two research focuses are at the forefront: “Human Performance” and “Lifelong Health Promotion an Education”; DSHMS researchers are involved in EU, FWF and other projects as well as research platforms.
Our team is a member of the Vienna Doctoral School of Pharmaceutical, Nutritional and Sport Sciences (VDS PhaNuSpo).
Your personal sphere of influence:As a University Assistant Praedoc you will complement/complete the research team around Prof. Dr. Scharhag.
The Department of Sports Medicine, Performance Physiology and Prevention (Head: Prof. Dr. med. Jürgen Scharhag) offers you the opportunity to research, to teach in an internationally networked team and to develop your own research profile in the field of sports and performance physiology and the sports medicine.
The duration of the contract is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-extension within the first 12 months.
