The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Vienna is an innovative and future-orientated faculty. Based on a strong disciplinary core, the broad range of subjects at the University of Vienna opens up many opportunities for modern computer science, which is increasingly entering application areas at the interfaces to the natural sciences, economics, medicine, social sciences and humanities.
Your workplace:As a Senior Lecturer, you will be working in the field of theoretical foundations of computer science. You will primarily design and lead introductory and in-depth courses on topics such as algorithms and data structures, fundamentals of intelligent systems, mathematical foundations of computer science, fundamentals of numerical computing and introduction to mathematical modelling. In addition, you will work on the design and implementation of an extension curriculum in Artificial Intelligence. You will further develop the courses you supervise in line with the current state of research and coordinate their content with the other courses in the curriculum. You will organise the courses according to modern didactic principles, taking into account the discipline-specific requirements of computer science. You are involved in defining the requirements for the necessary infrastructure and coordinate these with the relevant departments.
The employment level of 40 hours/week includes an average teaching obligation of 14 semester hours per week of academic teaching.

Completed doctorate in the field of computer science/business informatics
Broad basic education in computer science (e.g. Master's degree in computer science or equivalent)
Several years of independent teaching experience at a post-secondary educational institution
Enthusiasm for the transfer of knowledge and for university teaching
Excellent language skills in German and English (written and spoken) or willingness to quickly acquire excellent German skills if excellent English skills are available
Practical (professional) experience in software development or software engineering
