About the Role
The Business Unit Head, Oncology, Austria sits on the Austrian Leadership Team, leading and driving the Oncology business in Austria. Reporting into the Country Manager Austria & Switzerland, you will be responsible for setting up and evolving the Business Unit, adhering to all local applicable laws with specific attention to the Arzneimittelgesetz (AMG).
This is a one year fixed term contract role.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive compliant growth and profitability
- Initiate and develop an articulate vision of the short-, mid- and long-term goals and ambitions for Oncology in Austria
- Propose and achieve sales & profit contribution targets
- Propose and implement resource allocation to products/segments/targets, in order to optimize growth and profitability
- Develop the Oncology Business Unit regarding structure, capabilities, processes - leading change processes where necessary
- Localize, prepare and execute strategic plan and budget in line with the Ipsen strategy
- Connect and develop a culture of sharing and learning within DACH and in International
- Participation at international and local meetings
- Sales Management
- Leadership of the Oncology Sales Team and further development of the team and the sales strategy
- Continuous development of the team capabilities
- Design and implementation of the appropriate territories and structures
- Continue and increase Sales Force Effectiveness of the team
- Marketing Management
- Coordinate the creation and implementation of the business unit's strategic (including 4-year plan) and operational (including marketing plans, Medico marketing, sales activities) plans and contribute to the global strategy.
- Timely evaluation and adaptation of marketing strategies and plans in response to changes in the market and competition
- Responsibility for budget, portfolio analysis, identification of risks and opportunities ("competitive intelligence"), corrective actions
- Supporting the brand team in decision making, market research, through hindsight and taking responsibility in the process
Qualifications
Ideal: Bachelor or Master’s in Marketing, Life Science or Business Administration
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or biotechnology companies
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience required
- Experience in Marketing and Sales is a must
- Strong communicator and like to set a good example as a motivator and team player
- External stakeholder management
- Innovative, goal-oriented personality with a high level of self-motivation
- Problem solving & solution oriented
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with omnichannel activities and trends
- Demonstrated ability to identify and understand market trends
- Track record of pharma/biotech marketing with and understanding of budget planning and tracking
- Deep understanding of the Austrian healthcare environment as well as excellent project management skills
