POSTDOC POSITION (F/M/X)
(full-time, 40h per week)
in the Quantum Information and Foundations of Physics research group led by Dr. Markus Müller.
The Müller group´s research focuses on foundational problems in theoretical physics from an informationtheoretic perspective, with quantum information theory as its main tool. The group addresses a variety of questions with the rigorous methods of mathematical physics. For more information on the research activities of the group, see Müller Group.
Now the IQOQI-Vienna is offering Postdoc position to a highly motivated and well-qualified researcher to start on or after February 01 st , 2025. The position is limited to 1 year, with the possibility of an extension. The postdoc will work with the Müller group on the topics of a Quantum Austria project on “Local Operations on Quantum Fields”, relating the fields of Quantum Reference Frames, Mathematical Physics, Quantum Information Theory, and High-Energy Physics.
Your Profile: - Completed studies (PhD) in Physics or a related discipline
- Strong background in quantum theory and mathematical physics – in particular, the ability to work independently and familiarity with formulating and proving mathematical theorems are essential.
- Ideally, a strong background in quantum reference frames and quantum information theory
- Experience in relevant and excellent publication activity
- Ability to work well in a team
- Excellent English language and communication skills
