Your personal sphere of influence:

As a university assistant prae doc, you will complement the research group Specialized Human Nutrition around Univ.-Prof. Dr. Jürgen König and assist in research, teaching and administration.

The focus of our research is on the mechanisms of hunger and satiety in an approach that combines psychological factors (stress, food craving, restricted eating, visual and sensory food clues) and physiological processes in order to better understand eating behavior at all levels.

The contract duration at the time of employment is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-extension within the first 12 months.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching and administration, which means:

  • You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of Specialized Human Nutrition.
  • You will focus on memory based dietary records and factors influencing the ability to remember food consumption events to estimate the reliability of dietary assessment methods
  • You will publish your results internationally
  • We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12 months.
  • You work on your dissertation and its completion.
  • You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • You take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
This is part of your personality:
  • Completed Master's degree or Diploma, in the field of nutritional sciences, cognitive sciences or psychology
  • Basic experience in academic writing and with research methods in assessment of food consumption and dietary behaviour
  • Didactic competences and experience with e-learning
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and German (C1 level) and excellent communication skills with study participants
  • IT user skills in office software and statistical software (SPSS or R)
  • You should be a team player with high social skills
