Scientific Area Leader
Formulation and drug delivery

Duties and responsibilities
- Lead and manage a scientific team of up to 15 Hcs, including experts in fields of oral formulation, pulmonary drug delivery, long acting and modified release dosage forms, solubilization and bioavailability enhancing technologies
- Joint responsibility with the Business and Operations Area Leader to ensure overall successful Area leadership
- Responsible for the Area´s scientific strategy, visibility, quality and output (e.g. publications, scientific content for proposals and project reports)
- Develop & implement a strategy to translate science into business opportunities
- Responsible for:
- Scientific team
- Cross-disciplinary collaborations with internal team including modeling group, material science and manufacturing research group
- Liaising external collaborations with industrial and academic partners and participating/leading partnerships/consortia
- Expected to understand and lead the science of preformulation, formulations, stability, biopharmaceutics and clinical and translational aspects of product development and drug research
- Close cooperation with key scientists from other Areas and the CEOs
Requirements
- PhD degree in pharmaceutical science, drug delivery, physical chemistry or a related discipline and industrial and/or research experience in the field of formulation, product development or delivery of small or large molecule drugs
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, solve scientific problems and lead other professionals in a highly collaborative environment
- Proven scientific track record
- Networker in science and industry
- Good organization and communication skills, able to handle complex projects and manage teams
- English – fluent

- The actual salary is determined by the professional qualifications and experience as well as the relevant employment market and may be significantly higher than the pay scale under the Collective Wage Agreement. (For legal reasons we inform you that the gross minimum annual salary for this position is EUR 72.000,-)
