Currently, we are hiring to fill a part-time position to strengthen our services in the Language Center as:
Language Center Tutor (f/m/d)
Part-time (marginal employment, “geringfügig”) (7 hours/week)
Starting date: January 2025
A Language Center Tutor's primary tasks are to provide individual and small-group academic language and related tutoring services.
- Administering, preparing and leading individual and small-group tutoring sessions both on campus and online:
- Providing information during tutoring sessions, when necessary, on successful IELTS exam preparation strategies
- Analyzing students' academic needs and providing them with assistance and constructive feedback for further development
- Providing focused tutoring sessions on advanced academic writing
- Proposing, developing, and delivering workshops on relevant topics to address students' needs
- Maintaining records for program assessment
- Attending regular department meetings
- M.A. in English, Applied Linguistics or equivalent;
- Knowledge of currents state of language pedagogy
- Experience in academic research
- Full professional fluency in English

The monthly gross compensation for this position amounts to EUR 500,- (basis 7 hours/week), payable 14x/year.
