(Senior / Principal) Scientist
Expert in process analytical technologies (PAT), preferably with experience from industrial applications

Duties and responsibilities
- Assessing the state of the art and technology in the pharmaceutical industry and defining gaps for exploitation within RCPE’s fields of expertise
- Writing peer-reviewed, high-impact journal publications and disseminating research findings at international conferences
- Writing funding applications, scientific proposals, and proposals for industry partners to establish collaborations within the fields of expertise
- Supervision of bachelor’s/master’s and PhD students within the fields of expertise
- Acting as scientific expert, supervising scientific project work and participating in projects related to the field of expertise
Requirements
- A PhD in technical or natural sciences (preferably physics) and research experience in a field related to chemical or pharmaceutical engineering, sensor-related research, or physics
- Knowledge in sensor-data acquisition, data processing, and multivariate data evaluation/ statistics
- Knowledge (or strong interest/willingness to learn) of the principles of optical coherence tomography and hyperspectral imaging is expected
- Professional conduct and communication skills in dealing with international clients, partners and colleagues
- Interest and experience in performing top-level and target-oriented research at the interface of basic science and industrial application
