About
The Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe
(CIRSE) is a non-profit making, educational and scientific association
aiming to improve patient care through the support of teaching, science,
research and clinical practice in the field of cardiovascular and
interventional radiology. Based in Vienna, the society represents more
than 9,600 members and organises the largest annual IR congress in the
world. Our main mission is to provide education and training to our
members, to enhance patient care and to constantly improve the medical
discipline of interventional radiology.
We are now looking for a new team member to join our Editorial Office
team, which manages CIRSE’s scientific journals: CVIR, CVIR
Endovascular and CVIR Oncology, and oversees the production of
CIRSE’s Standard of Practice (SOP) documents, which are aimed at
helping improve the quality of patient care in interventional radiology
and assist interventional radiologists in their daily practice.
This position would be the ideal role for a candidate who is able to
quickly pick up new information, think critically and creatively, and take
initiative, and who is interested in scientific publishing, editorial work
and is willing to contribute to the diverse projects aiding in the
development of CIRSE’s journals and SOP documents.
Your roles and responsibilities-
Liaising with editors, authors, reviewers, publisher and other
stakeholders

Support Editors and Editorial Board members in their day-to-day work

Prepare regular project briefings to the committee members, editors,
CIRSE leadership, and executive director

Organise in-person and online meetings, including coordinating
invitations, compiling agendas, providing presentations, offering
technical support, and taking minutes

Draft correspondence, presentations, content for newsletters and other
CIRSE publications
- Work in the manuscript submission and peer-review system
- Manage website content and coordinate promotional activities
Essential qualifications, skills and experience- Native (or near-native) English speaker
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Strong organisational, analytical, time management and problem-solving
skills
- Ability to organise and moderate in-person and online meetings

Knowledge of manuscript submission systems, such as Editorial Manager
advantageous
- A good team player, service-oriented, with a proactive mind
Desirable qualifications-
An academic degree or at least 2 years of work experience in a similar
role

An understanding and/or interest of publishing processes for scientific
manuscripts

Advanced written and spoken German or additional languages is an asset

The salary is € 2,500 gross. We offer a fixed-term contract for 17 months.
