The Berlin police are looking for several permanent positions as soon as possible IT system technicians for the central technical operations service (ZTBD) of the cooperative control center of the Berlin police and fire department (f/m/d) Reference number: 2-141-22 Pay grade: EG 11 TV-L plus a temporary specialist allowance for tariff employees in information technology (if the requirements are met) Location: Nikolaus-Groß-Weg 2, 13627 Berlin, from 2027 also Eiswaldstraße 18, 12249 Berlin We, the Berlin Police and the Berlin Fire Department, are working together on the planning, implementation and subsequent operation of our cooperative control center, the most modern and largest control center system in Germany. In future, the cooperative control center will be the first point of contact for all emergency calls from the police and fire departments in Berlin and the central technical operations service (ZTBD) will form the strong digital backbone for this. Your expertise and commitment are needed for the ZTBD! What tasks await you? You will work directly on the digital backbone of the control center in areas such as IT security, data protection, geodata infrastructure, voice communication system and in the area of high-availability data centers with a self-sufficient data network. With your know-how, you will make a valuable contribution to setting up the future control center technology and will later ensure technical operation as part of the team through installation and maintenance, occasionally also outside regular working hours in the form of on-call duty and/or shift work. You will be part of the team responsible for the monitoring, administration and further development of the new control center system. You will coordinate with colleagues in the IT departments of the existing control centers and external suppliers. With your administrative skills, you will ensure a smooth workflow within the cooperative control center and ensure its operation. As part of first and second level support, you are the first point of contact for employees at the Cooperative Control Center What qualifications do you have? You have a Bachelor's degree or a corresponding degree from a university of applied sciences in the fields listed below or in a comparable course of study. If you have completed the same degree within the next 6 months, you are also welcome to apply or You have been working for at least three years in the field of systems engineering, i.e. in the field of computer science, telecommunications, communications or electrical engineering or have comparable qualifications and experience. You are familiar with terms such as server architecture, network technology, DHCP, Cat5, fiber optics, firewall, Docker images, virtual environments, load balancing, Active Directory, identity management and PKI, backups, IT security and more. Preferably you are experienced in the use of monitoring tools and the evaluation of logs. You are familiar with Windows and/or Linux at administrator and command line level, know the internal processes and can configure the systems. It is also desirable if you already have experience with 1st or 2nd level support or generally the workflow using ITIL and dealing with process-oriented work. Ideally, you are also familiar with radio and telecommunications technology, databases and GDI systems. What else do we need from you? You are used to working as part of a team, but can also carry out tasks independently and reliably. You are goal-oriented and efficient even under pressure, assess priorities and communicate your plans to the team. You are curious and have the willingness to constantly develop yourself and the team. You have the flexibility to relocate if necessary and are willing to work on-call and/or in shifts. You have a class B driving license or are willing to obtain one You have at least C1 level German language skills. What sets us apart?
