Product Owner - Container Platform (m/w/x)

As the IT of the REWE Group Austria, we work together with our more than 700 employees to develop innovative IT products and services for all our corporate divisions in Austria and abroad, setting the tone for modern trade.

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner for our Container Platform to lead and scale our containerization and orchestration strategy. This role will oversee the architecture, development, and operations of containerized workloads, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate will drive best practices for Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud-native development while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable innovation and efficiency.

Stellenbeschreibung

• Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies in the cloud-native ecosystem.
• Recruit, mentor and lead a team of platform engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the implementation and management of Kubernetes clusters (on-prem & cloud).
• Ensure automation and self-service capabilities for our Stakeholders.
• Coordinate with cloud and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integrations.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or DevOps roles, with at least 4 years in leadership.
• Deep expertise in container orchestration tools.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and hybrid cloud strategies.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and infrastructure automation (Terraform, ArgoCD, etc.).
• Understanding of networking, service meshes (Istio), and security best practices for containers.
• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana or EFK.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English.
