Senior Buyer / Senior Einkäufer:in (m/f/d)

Objectives:

As a Senior Buyer at paper republic, you will be responsible for executing purchasing operations and managing a pool of suppliers with a hands-on approach to ensure continuous material availability. You will own the procurement process for your assigned suppliers and collaborate closely with team members and other departments to maintain smooth and efficient workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with operational purchasing expertise and a proactive, strategic mindset to contribute to the long-term goals of paper republic.

Key responsibilities:

* Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing and/or new key suppliers.
* Generate reliable demand and supply forecasts.
* Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and avoid overstocking or stockouts.
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance.
* Handle day-to-day purchasing tasks (e.g., supplier quotations, goods receipt, invoice verification).
* Collaborate with the inventory team to ensure stock levels align with company needs.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and explore alternative suppliers (research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability).
* Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier data in the company system.
* Create and submit regular reports on material status.
* Manage and update master data.
* Report directly to the Head of Purchasing.

Key qualifications:

* A business degree with a focus on Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent experience (3-5 years minimum in the field).
* Proficiency in inventory management software (preferably Katana MRP) and/or ERP systems.
* Advanced skills in data analysis tools (especially Excel) for forecasting and cost analysis.
* Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
* Fluency in English (written and spoken), proficiency in French would be an advantage.
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to mentor or guide junior buyers is advantageous.
