Optical/Laser Technology Engineer

Cerabyte is looking for a talented Optical/Laser Technology Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and testing of advanced optical and laser technologies that are integral to our cutting-edge data storage solution. You will have the opportunity to work on projects that utilize high-power femtosecond lasers and high NA optical systems, together with highly dynamic motion systems, contributing significantly to the next generation of data storage technologies.

Your primary responsibilities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize laser, optical and supporting mechanical systems, as well as testing and validating the performance of these systems to ensure they meet our rigorous standards. Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Engineering, Laser Technology, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in engineering and laser technology development
• Strong understanding of motion systems, optics, and photonics principles
• Hands-on experience with high-power femtosecond lasers and their applications
• Hands-on experience with electrical/mechanical hardware integration, debugging and optimization
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with laser micromachining or related manufacturing techniques/systems
• Knowledge of applicable safety standards and regulations related to laser and optical systems
• Proficiency in optical design software such as Zemax, LightTools, codeV
• Proficiency in CAD design software such as SolidWorks
• Strong communication skills and fluency in German
• Experience in laser beam shaping techniques
• Basic programing skills
