(Junior) Software Engineer for customer projects (m/f/x)

Graz (AUT) hybrid | Full-time (38,5h/week) or Part-time (minimum 24h/week) | Immediate Start

You’ll be a member of one of our agile and hybrid engineering teams and work on exciting projects in our department for customised customer solutions within a complex SaaS BSS enterprise software. Within your main tasks you will:

• independently implement customer requirements in one of our modern tech stacks (Java, Spring Boot, Container, Kubernetes/TypeScript, Node, AWS Serverless)

• define software requirements together with the Product Owner

• develop and implement automated tests using Cucumber, Playwright and JUnit

• improve and further develop internal development processes and tools used by our development teams

• work with state-of-the-art technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and public cloud platforms (AWS, Google, Azure)

• gain experience in Software Engineering. After a while we expect you to take over responsibility to coach / lead others. With increasing seniority, it can be an option to represent the software side at the customer in collaboration with the PO.

• implement innovative frontends in Typescript using React

• use state of the art cloud-based infrastructure (CI/CD, code analysis, monitoring…).

• You have (almost) completed IT education (HTL is minimum; FH, TU - in Software Engineering, Software Design, Cloud Computing, eHealth, Information and Computer Engineering or similar) or gained additional comparable IT skills as a self-learner.

• You have first relevant experience in programming, whether professionally, in student / private projects or relevant internships (0,5-3 years’ experience in this field would be beneficial; for HTL-graduates it’s required).

• You have knowledge in software development with focus on at least one object-oriented language (Java and/or C#, Typescript, Python) - that’s a must. Experience with Web-development would be a benefit; affinity with Kubernetes, Web UI Engineering, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment, etc. – that’s a nice to have

• You are continuously improving your skills; work independently, but keen network and know when it's time to fall back on it.

• You have the potential to take on responsibility and support / coach others.

• You are an inspiring team player, listen to others actively and follow up with constructive outcome-oriented ideas.

• You have excellent communication skills in English and can explain complex issues in a target group-orientated way.

• You have valid work and resident permit for Austria.
