We are currently seeking a candidate to join our team in the role as Global Legal Counsel Trademark Clearance, Team Lead.
Job DescriptionGLOBAL TRADEMARK CLEARANCE SEARCHES
In this position, you will be responsible for conducting, analyzing, and reviewing trademark clearance searches via various databases and search machines. Plus, you will prepare worldwide trademark clearance reports and make recommendations on how to overcome third party trademark obstacles as necessary.
You will prepare complicated US and international trademark clearances prepared by the responsible TMC legal counsel and review the results of complex reports
OVERSEE AND SIGN OFF ON GLOBAL TRADEMARK CLEARANCE SEARCHES
You will prepare as well as oversee and sign off on trademark clearances which are prepared by the clearance team for:
- New Projects
- New Products
- New Events
- Cartoons
- Occasion Packs
- Limited Can Editions
- Key Visuals
COORDINATION OF LOCAL COUNSELS
In reviewing third party marks in various jurisdictions, you will also be responsible to coordinate risk assessments from local counsels, as necessary as well as liaise internally with our Prosecution, License and Brand Enforcement Teams.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
You will be responsible to supervise, support and manage a team of six in clearance matters, as well as review their drafts and support them in their role.
You will be responsible to approve/challenge invoices of external counsels and support the IP Counsel with managing the Clearance budget.
QualificationsLaw Degree, LLM (in IP Law) would be a plus
At least 5-7 years of experience in intellectual property law, specifically in international trademark searches and clearances, preferably with an international law firm or company
Solid experience in managing high volumes and complicated trademark clearances in a global context
Solid experience in managing a team of Legal professionals (Legal Counsels, Paralegals)
Fluency in English, German is a plus
Strong communication skills and good risk analysis and decision-making skills
Sound business judgement and strategic thinking
Must have excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Analytical, professional & solution oriented working style
Familiarity with SAEGIS and other search applications
Additional InformationDue to legal reasons we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is EUR 2446,00 gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
