What You Will Contribute:Work objective of this position
The HR Manager - Austria will be responsible for the HR activities at all sites associated with Badger Meter Austria based in the Vienna office. The role also supports the wider International HR Team. The HR Manager will provide professional, efficient and effective HR advice in accordance with local Labour law, agreed company policies and procedures, working to high professional standards at all times.
Tasks in detail, major job duty/accountability
- Manage all core HR departmental areas, including payroll, employee relations, HR admin, learning and development, internal recruitment, and employee engagement.
- Work with HRIS systems and payroll systems to ensure accurate data is captured.
- Provide advice and direction where needed to the local leadership teams on work priorities, budget and staff resources, strategic, policy, organisation and staff management issues.
- Current regulation compliance, including accepted professional standards, policies and procedures and legislation.
- Manage the implementation of employment policies.
- Ensure the onboarding process is handled in a professional manner to expedite the settling in period.
- Manage the execution of the HR Strategy to ensure achievement of the objectives.
- Continuously improve engagement and welfare activities, maximising productivity, devolving HR responsibilities to line managers and building leadership capability.
- Support leadership team with staffing needs and manage the creation of job descriptions and headcount planning inputs.
- Support management talent planning.
- Support the performance review program to deliver continuous employee development.
- Regularly coach, mentor, and support colleagues to identify individual strengths and development needs
- Support annual remuneration and benefit surveys and reviews.
- Manage the diversity, equality, and inclusion values and practices within the location.
- Ensure the offboarding process is handled in a professional manner to ensure everyone is consistently treated fairly.
- Manage the allocation of HR budgets.
- Ensure internal HR communications, including any issues, initiatives and programmes are well planned, coordinated, relevant, timely and adhere to the company’s values.
Skills (Desirable or Essential)
- Working knowledge of employment regulations. – essential
- Good working knowledge and understanding of regulations, accepted professional standards, policies and procedures and legislation. – Essential
- Excellent understanding of HR practices. – essential
- Good understanding and technical abilities within all HR departmental areas including recruitment, employee relations, workforce administration, employee engagement, payroll, reward and recognition, welfare, learning and development and HR systems. – essential
- Good knowledge of HRIS systems preferably workday and ADP Celergo.
- The ability to develop strong working relationships and drive collaboration – essential
- The ability to assert your opinion and ideas with confidence. – essential
- The ability to understand HR statistical reports. – essential
Education and Experience
- Successfully completed university/university of applied sciences degree in business law or human resources
- 5 years + professional experience in HR Management or a comparable position.
Qualifications
- Payroll qualification advantageous
- Intermediate proficiency with MS-Office knowledge (especially Excel) required
- Excellent German and very good English skills required

- The minimum salary according to the collective bargaining agreement is currently € gross/month.
- This figure should be seen as a guideline, as we will determine the actual salary during the application process based on your experience and qualifications.
Pay Range
- $58,000 – $82,000 annually
