Summary: Take responsibility in managing Alzheimer communications in the German market for a market leading, pioneering biopharmaceutical company. Develop and implement local external and internal communication strategies, initiatives and tactics to create awareness for early-onset Alzheimer disease and the first disease modifying therapy to be launched possibly in 2021.
Prepare the German market and its stakeholders for innovation in the treatment of ALZ through integrated strategic communications initiatives
Create PR strategies for the specific German market situation targeting various audiences (HCPs, payers, patients), and develop and implement tactics.
Create and distribute communication content to be used in multiple channels (mainly digital, print); manage communication channels with a strong focus on digital
Communicate ONE Client/leader in Neuroscience story spearheaded by Alzheimer to external stakeholders (medical press/HCPs/lay media/broad public)
Create and implement internal communication strategies to enhance “reason to believe” in Client´s ALZ program prior to a possible launch amongst employees.
Main Responsibilities and accountabilities: 1. PR management
Collaborate closely with local commercial Alzheimer team, medical and other internal partners to ensure PR strategies and tactical implementation are aligned with global Alzheimer strategies.
liaise closely with multi channel excellence digital project manager and digital team.
Close collaboration with Public Policy and Govt. Affairs to plan and align communication strategies and tactics.
Close collaboration and support MAx for specific payer/MAx communication topics.
Drive PR input in local ICP-Process
Handle and monitor PR budget.
Medical Media (HCP audiences)
Based on global strategies create local Alzheimer PR/communications strategies and tactics for medical (HCP) audiences through multiple channels with a focus on digital, working in in close collaboration with Alzheimers cross-functional team (Medical, Patient advocacy, Market Access).
Implement tactics in line with the legal and compliance frameworks and drive media coverage around key milestones leading up to launch.
Manage relationship with medical media.
Identify adequate topics and measures to ensure continuous updates on Client´s Alzheimer research
Lay media
Build awareness for early Alzheimer/Mild cognitive impairment and prepare for first disease modifying therapy in lay audience through targeted communications
2. Agency management
Coordination and alignment of medical PR agency, corporate Comms agency and media agency
Develop integrated plan to maximize impact in digital and print channels (incl. special publication plan)
Ongoing input/output-analysis with PR agencies and publishing houses (invest vs. quality/quantity of articles), action plans for optimization
Monitoring and analysis with reporting towards internal stakeholder
3. Stakeholder management: External: Thought Leader
Identify spokespersons for PR projects together with product teams for optimal communication of key messages to defined target groups, support cooperation with KMEs
Integrate spokespersons in communication activities (press conferences, videos, special publications etc.)
Internal: cross-functional Alzheimer team, ONE Client, international colleagues
Cross-functional collaboration with all functions dedicated to Alzheimer to ensure alignment of PR messages and measures - mainly Medical, market access,
Cooperate with international colleagues (mainly Corporate Affairs in EU+, Global) to ensure alignment of local and regional messaging
4. Internal communications
Create communication plan for internal Alzheimers communication - ensuring the importance of this new therapeutic area is seen and plays a leading role in the ONE Client story
Identify key themes and milestones and choose appropriate channels and platforms for effective message delivery.
Communicate Alzheimer messages to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in communications, business or sciences; or bachelor´s degree in other fields with significant experience in communications through internships etc (educational specialization is flexible depending on professional experience)
Min. 3 years of professional experience in equivalent roles within the Pharma/Biotech industry or within a PR agency assigned with Pharma/Biotech accounts.
