Java Intershop Developer (m/f/x)- Freelance

For my customer in Upper Austria, I´m currently looking for freelance support of a Java-Intershop Developer (m/f/x)

Framework

• Start: ideally beginning of May- latest possible start September 2025
• Capacity: full-time (40h/week)
• Length: 11 months (paternity leave cover)
• Location: Wels, Upper Austria
• Workplace: mostly remote (only 1-2 weeks on-site for on-boarding are needed to be on-site at the start in the project) - no option of remote on-boarding
• Project languages: German and English (both needed on a conversational level)
• Sector: Retail
• Feedback to applications: from 7.April

Tasks

• Continuous development and improvement of e-commerce platform (Intershop)
• Implementation of functional and non-functional requirements in the web shop environment
• Software development in the DevOps cycle
• Active contribution to requirements engineering
• Collaboration in improving the agile software development process (Scrum)
• Design of the software architecture, taking into account interfaces to REST services, ERP systems, and third-party software
• Optimization and implementation of refactoring tasks
• Troubleshooting
• Knowledge transfer and mentoring within the ten-person development team

Profile

• + 3 years of relevant professional experience in software development
• Very good knowledge of Java and OOP
• +3 years of professional experience developing Intershop Commerce Suite
• Experience in developing and implementing microservices using Spring Boot and REST APIs
• Solid knowledge of the efficient use and optimization of relational databases such as Oracle and MSSQL
• Other skills: Spring Boot, Linux, Angular, Jenkins
• Very good German and English skills
